Where to start with two people who brought out the sun on a cold, rainy day? Their effort, kindness, generosity of spirit alone buoyed my overwhelm and made what could have been phenomenally stressful, instead, phenomenally gentle. Giovanni took the time the night before to talk through logistics and inventory, let me know when they were on their way, showed up promptly and professionally, crafted solutions on the fly, treated me, my people who came to help, all of my belongings, like they were moving family, and offered support and encouragement throughout. Of special notice is how they treated we four visibly queer people with dignity, respect, and humanity. In this moment where our communities are feeling especially vulnerable we felt seen and safe. I am ebullient with gratitude for Giovanni and Isaac’s help today!
