The entire reason I got the u-haul was because I wanted to move a large, expensive wooden double dog crate. Upon inspecting the u-haul just prior to my move today.. I realized not one but two of the bars on the dog crate were broken. One completely ripped out and the other bent creating a huge dog-sized hole. Now, half of my u-haul is filled with a broken item that I can not move and I have to pay for a new 300 dollar dog crate that I will have to build all over again. They did not say a word about it and they clearly knew since the piece was quietly laid inside of the dog crate. That is unacceptable professionalism and I am very disappointed in my experience. They clearly took no care with my items despite there not being much to actually move.

I’ve used Handy Helpers four times to move me and it’s always taken 2.5 hours or less. This time it took more than 5 hours. Granted it was a very hot and humid day, but they a little late when they got there. I had already had the truck for more than 2 hours when they arrived and Uhaul was calling me looking for their truck after 6 hours. I specifically told them I paid for those packing quilts and to please cover the wood furniture when loaded. My footboard was gouged pretty bad, but thankfully on the inside. I have a heavy mechanical bed and I told them it was ok to slide it across the carpet as long as they picked it up off the carpet. They pushed the bed frame right out the front door and over the threshold and ripped the vinyl in 2 places. One of the guys went somewhere when we were headed to my new apartment and got those straps for heavy items for the unloading. He arrived about 10 minutes after the other guy. Otherwise, they were very polite and hard workers.
